Week 1

For the first week I want to challenge everyone to eat out less. I don't know how often you eat out, but I think we could all do it a little less. Fast food places use meat that is run through processing lines at an especially fast rate of speed to maximize production and profit, although they are sacrificing food quality, employee safety, and public health. There are some good places out there to eat at, but over all it would be better to know what is in your food. Sometimes it is unavoidable, and you just have to grab something when you are out. If you find yourself caught in this situation, try for the most fruit and veggies filled, whole grain breads, and low-fat meals as possible. Something good to try might be Subway or grilled chicken wraps (with a low-fat sauce). If you want the most nutrition, try whole grain breads, fat-free dressings, and plenty of your optional veggies.
